EVENT LIST

CATEGORY: CLASSES VI-VIII


Chemistry yellow pages - MAD ADS

Participants have to create mad-ads for crazy products, to have their target audience in splits. A great platform for showcasing one’s creativity!
RULES:
A team of four per institution.
Teams will be given a chemical product to advertise at the venue.
15 minutes will be given to prepare
Time limit – 2+1 minutes
Teams are allowed to use props
Judgment criteria: Humor, Creativity, originality, message conveyed.


Test-tube full of colours- Rangoli


An innovative way of expressing one’s views on chemistry, through colors. The contestants can pick up any topic related to Chemistry and convey it through the Rangoli.
RULES:
A team of 2 per institution
20 minutes time will be given.
Maximum area of Rangoli- 3 feet X 3 feet
Judgment criteria: Creativity, Design approach, visual appeal and the
concept that is portrayed.


CATEGORY: CLASSES IX-X


RHYTHMIC SPONTANEITY- Lyric writing and composing

An amusing way of learning Chemistry where the participants will have to create rap/songs based on a topic on Chemistry, which will be given on the day of the event. Topics will be related to Chemistry in Everyday life.
RULES:
A team of 3 per institution.
25 minutes will be given for preparation.
Maximum of Two minutes will be given to present the song
Use of musical instrument is optional.
Criteria of judgment- clarity and expression, pattern and rhythm, creativity,
content.

Chem Charades
This event consists of 2 rounds out of which one is a surprise round and the Other is a chemistry based game where each team will be given a chemistry word and the participant should convey the word to his team members without speaking.
RULES:
A team of 2 per institution
1 minute will be allotted to the participant to enact the word.


CATEGORY- CLASS XI AND XII

HURDLES- Treasure hunt
This is a combination of a Treasure Hunt and a series of interactive events. The Teams need to reveal and de-code the clues that lead them to the next level, after solving scientific puzzles and a few brain storming activities, in order to overcome the hurdles and reach the finish line! This event aims to take one by surprise, so expect the unexpected!
RULES:
A team of three per institution. Teams are not allowed to use any external sources. Teams are allowed to interact with their own team members and their respective volunteers (allotted by DPS North) only.

TimeOut - Quiz

Enjoy the rides in an ocean of queries and answer as many as you can! This event is all about the basic and fundamental concepts of Chemistry. It shows how deep the team’s knowledge of the concepts of Chemistry is.
RULES:
A team of two per institution. This event will consist of five rounds, the first being the mass elimination round
